SANYO, the UK’s number one projector brand (Decision Tree Consulting), has added to its extensive range of LCD projectors by launching a new ultra-portable model. Designed specifically with the needs of schools, colleges and universities in mind, the SANYO Safeguard Projector meets the full BECTA (British Educational Communications and Technology Agency) specification and offers many of the additional security features requested by BECTA and individual LGA’s.

According to BECTA, theft of education equipment is a growing problem in schools, causing not only monetary loss but also loss of teaching time and teaching resources. SANYO’s Safeguard Projector includes a number of enhanced security features to address this issue.

The pin-code security function allows a unique pin-code to be keyed into the unit every time it is turned on, preventing unauthorised access. The start-up screen can also be coded with a unique pin protected security message (such as ‘this projector has been stolen from’), which will display when the projector is switched on. With no external control buttons, the SANYO Safeguard Projector requires a unique remote control for its security-coded start-up and won’t work without it. Manufactured in bright orange, the Safeguard Projector is clearly visible as product for the education market rather than a consumer model. Finally an in-built alarm system will sound to 100db if the projector is jogged or jolted.
